Wellness services are designed to make you feel better and look great! Our wellness services can be utilized individually or in combination with our physical therapy services. Massage Therapy Services
At Myofit Clinic, massage therapy is administered by a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy, Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant or a licensed massage therapist. All forms of massage therapy are delivered in clean, comfortable and private therapy rooms. Your modesty and comfort are our top priority.
The benefits of massage have been cited in history for thousands of years. Ancient Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Egyptian and Greek writings all cite references to benefits of massage in their historical records.
There are many different techniques that encompass massage therapy, but in general the therapist presses, rubs and mobilizes the muscles and soft tissues of the body. Therefore, it is essential that the therapist have an extensive knowledge of the human anatomy, including a great understanding of muscles and surrounding tissues.
MyoFit Clinic’s Doctor of Physical Therapy, Physical Therapist Assistant and massage therapist are all state licensed and have completed rigorous and extensive training to provide theses services to our community.

Massage techniques that MyoFit Clinic provide include:
Swedish: Swedish massage is the most common type of massage utilized in this country. Swedish massage utilizes long strokes, kneading and deep circular motions in order to promote muscle flexibility and promote blood flow to the affected area. It also utilizes light rhythmic tapping strokes and combines movement of the joints. This form of massage reduces muscle tension and leaves you feeling relaxed and renewed.
Deep Tissue: Deep tissue massage is meant to focus attention to a specific, painful or tender area of the body. Deep tissue massage is delivered with slow strokes and deep pressure. This form of massage is beneficial for large muscle groups and dealing with chronic pain related to muscle tension.
Sports Massage: Benefits of sports massage include injury prevention, mobility restoration and boosting sports performance. Sports massage helps to alleviate muscle strain related to sports performance and facilitates improved flexibility. The sports massage facilitates tissue healing and reduces swelling. A sports massage is ideal for recovery from a high intensity sport event. The sports massage focuses on the body areas that are overused and stressed from repetitive overuse movements.
Myofascial Release: Myofascial release is a form of hands on massage that involves the application of gentle, sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissues of the body. This gentle pressure reduces restrictions to the myofascial layer in order to eliminate pain and restore full motion. This form of skilled massage is delivered directly to the skin, without oils or creams.
Trigger Point Release: A trigger point is an area within a muscle that is tight and holding tension. These trigger points can cause pain in that area and refer pain to another area. For example, a trigger point in the neck can cause pain in the head. Trigger point release massage therapy specifically targets these areas of muscle tension. Repeated cycles of firm pressure are applied to the affected area, while combining deep breathing by the client. This results in muscle relaxation and reduction in pain. For people that have dealt with chronic injuries, trigger point therapy may be extremely beneficial.
Geriatric Massage: Massage therapy for the geriatric population combines gentle pressure, passive joint movement and can include light passive stretching. Benefits of geriatric massage included improved mood, reduced anxiety and reduced depression, in addition to improved flexibility and reduced pain.
Prenatal Massage: Massage relieves many typical discomforts associated with pregnancy including, back pain, muscle stiffness, leg cramps, headaches and swelling of the legs. It helps to encourage blood circulation and reduces stress. These benefits can contribute to improved sleep and reduced anxiety. The client is positioned in a manner to alleviate pain in the low back and pelvis and allow for ultimate relaxation.
